The first Pierre Cardin eyewear collections were more directly inspired by clothing. In the exaggerated oversized shapes typical of the 60s and 70s models and in the very showy square frames, one could find clear references to the study of the geometries that characterized fashion collections. The recent models mark a return to classic forms, lighter, versatile and easy to wear, but not lacking inspiration or imagination. Another characteristic that unites Pierre Cardin's clothing and accessories is the predilection for unisex, which the designer brought out when the concept of genderless was still something unthinkable.
