A great passion for sport and competition animates its energetic founder Wilhelm Anger, who, for the name of the brand, was inspired by the longest, fastest and craziest car race in the world: the Carrera Panamericana. Less than twenty years later, the name is synonymous with style and high quality.
Adventure, spontaneity, enthusiasm and thrill: Carrera sunglasses are the ideal accessory for those who want to live life to the max. If the style is retro, inspired by epic sports and aviation, the materials and technical solutions are cutting edge. In fact, this brand introduced many innovations in the world of eyewear, such as interchangeable lenses, folding glasses and the Optyl, a patented material which is more performing than acetate. In 1996 the brand was acquired by the Safilo group and the headquarters is now based in Padua, Italy
